Valeria Rubinstein, MD
Valeria Rubinstein is a board certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist. Dr. Rubinstein graduated from University of Chicago to receive her B.S. in Psychology with honors. She attended Northwestern University School of Medicine to receive her M.D. and Yale University School of Medicine for her residency training in ophthalmology. She completed her clinical and surgical fellowship in glaucoma at Columbia University Medical Center/New York-Presbyterian Hospital.
Prior to starting private practice, Dr. Rubinstein was the principal glaucoma specialist and surgeon at Harlem Hospital and Beth Israel Medical Center. Since her medical training, Dr. Rubinstein has been dedicated to resident physician education. She was a resident instructor at Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital and is currently an adjunct attending at New York Eye & Ear Infirmary where she assists in resident training.
Dr. Rubinstein is a comprehensive ophthalmologist who specializes in adult glaucoma care utilizing the latest laser and surgical techniques. This includes selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT), laser peripheral iridotomy (LPI), glaucoma drainage device implants (Baerveldt, Ahmed, Molteno), trabeculectomy as well as minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) which includes procedures such as, iStent, kahook dual blade, OMNI glaucoma treatment system, endoscopic cyclophotocoagulation and micropulse/transcleral cyclophotocoagulation laser. Dr. Rubinstein also performs small incision, sutureless cataract surgery with the option for Femtosecond laser assisted cataract surgery and implantation of both standard and premium intraocular lenses (multifocal, extended depth of focus and astigmatic correcting intraocular lenses).
